New technology may be the solution to drink-driving, and here to discuss it is UNE’s Dr Kyle Mulrooney.

In the clip below, Dr Mulrooney discusses the research article that he recently co-authored for The Conversation, alongside Associate Professor Guy Charlton.

“Systems can either monitor a driver’s performance to detect if they are impaired, or test a driver’s BAC to determine if it’s above the legal limit.” Not only does this technology have the potential to prevent drunk-driving, but it can, in an emergency situation, work to prevent a crash. What do our Criminology students think of preventative technology such as this?

To find out more about these developments, you can read about the research and its implications in The Conversation or listen to the ABC news Interview below.
