June 2024 School update

Farewell and Welcome

  • Georgia Christiansen leaves us on 28 June 2024 – after 15 years in in the Office for Professional Learning. We wish her well.
  • Kerryn Allen from the CAM team moves to HASS and we thank her – she will be missed!

School of Education Luncheon

  • More than 20 and the same amount of staff joined together for a “get to know you” luncheon in LG1 on 26 June – it was great to get to know our students better and find out how we can do things to make their learning more enjoyable and successful.

Future Teacher’s Club

  • The School of Education welcomed school students who wish to become teachers to undertake various activities in the School of Education (mostly STEM). The students came from Sydney (Macquarie Fields High School and Sir Joseph Banks High School), the Upper Hunter Valley (Muswellbrook HS) and Armidale (Armidale Secondary College). Thank you to Anna Du Plessis and Casey Mainsbridge for organising and the VC for welcoming the students to the UNE campus. Attached are a few of the pictures from the day/lunch (note that the students wanted us to wear academic gowns 😊.
