This week your intrepid archaeologists were forced to get up far too early, apply their best pancake makeup and front the cameras – all for the LOVE of archaeology. Well – also because we were asked to do it.

Noos

Look at us! The lovely Tim has never had such an interesting pair of interviewees (courtesy Jennifer Fitzpatrick, PAHSMA)

The crew from Today rocked up on Monday, evidently having heard all about the wonders being unearthed on site. We wowed them with rusted nails, swathes of featureless dirt and our old fashioned rural charm. Sylvana and I were on camera for about 30 seconds, during which time we imparted a library’s worth of information. Sylvana proudly showed off the wonders we had found, whilst I discussed the intricacies of the Australian convict system to a fascinated national audience.

Truly, I now expect archaeology departments Australia-wide to see an upsurge in enrolments.

More noos
