This new article explored the concept of “non-verbal accent”, where one’s enculturation permeates non-verbal behaviours such as the way a person moves, dresses, and presents themselves physically. In three studies, we found that Australians who viewed short, silent videos of racial minority members were able to identify at above chance levels if a person was Australian and stereotyped them accordingly.
