In a busy year of research and teaching, UNE’s academics made full use of our longstanding membership with The Conversation to submit 34 articles in 2023. Across the digital expanse these pieces garnered an impressive 1.2 million reads worldwide, with 59% of readers residing beyond Australia’s shores.

The most read story  “What are the long-term effects of quitting social media? Almost nobody can log off long enough to find out,” by Associate Professor John Malouff received a staggering 73,974 pageviews.

Post-publication, over half of UNE’s authors were contacted by media for follow up, including interviews on TV, radio, online, and print.

It’s clear that The Conversation isn’t just a platform; it’s a global stage where experts can share knowledge, discuss problems and identify sustainable solutions. If you are interested in leveraging this platform to promote your research, contact media@une.edu.au to learn more.
