The Driving Social Inclusion through Sport and Physical Activity (DSISPA) program will be providing two free youth leadership and inclusive football (soccer) coaching workshop opportunities through Creating Chances, courtesy of funding from the Australian Government – Department of Health. The events will be held from 31st March -1st April 2021.

Who is it for?

The 2-day youth leadership program is for Youth (18-25 years) from TAFE AMEP. UNE students and the broader Armidale community are invited to participate in this multicultural program.

The Inclusive football coaching workshop is for anyone in the Armidale community looking to develop their coaching skills – current or aspiring volunteer coaches, any age. Youth leadership program participants are also welcome.
Creating Chances and Football United are running this workshop in partnership with SportUNE and DSISPA, with potential for paid coaching opportunities with Creating Chances later in 2021.

Unlike most other DSISPA opportunities, participants do not need to be from the Ezidi community, newly-arrived migrants (<5 years in Armidale) or have an ImmiCard

Who are Creating Chances?

Creating Chances are a Not-for-Profit built on the founding principles of Football United and Rugby Youth Foundation using sport as a vehicle for positive social change in schools and multicultural communities. Their programs use evidence-based approaches to promote positive youth development through sport, aiming to build youth skill development for sport and life, alongside community capacity. In 2021, they will also be embedding similar age-specific programs in several NSW Department of Education Primary and High schools in Armidale. You can learn more about their solid foundations working in metropolitan and regional NSW here
