UNE’s new strategic plan, Future Fit, will guide the University’s direction over the the next decade.
It’s a plan that proposes greater ambitions than just getting UNE through the next decade intact. We are re-imagining the UNE brand.

Future Fit outlines how UNE can establish its own place in a changing world through transformative partnerships and innovative delivery of education and research.

Partly, this means seizing the future.

• All UNE’s education services are to be delivered from a robust, purpose-built core digital platform.
• The University’s research effort will focus on building sustainable long-term research partnerships.
• The University workplace is being transformed to free up energy and innovation.

And partly, Future Fit means harking back to UNE’s roots: fully claiming our role as a regional university dedicated to addressing the challenges of our region in ways that help regional areas everywhere.

Future Fit is a product of UNE’s largest-ever consultation with the University community – staff, students, alumni and the wider community. That consultation was conducted in parallel with a sweeping review of the future education and employment landscape.

The plan presents challenges to our ways of working and thinking, but it sets up UNE to be resilient in crisis and responsive to opportunity.

It also represents energy and optimism. With these qualities, we can collectively carry UNE into a vibrant future.

I look forward to working with you on the journey.

Welcome to the future, and UNE’s Future Fit.
