As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting best practice in digitally-enabled learning and teaching at UNE, DigEd has recently developed a guide for staff on creating effective content in myLearn.

The guide focuses on best practice for content development informed by quality frameworks such as UNE’s 16 Elements and Ascilite’s TELAS standards, and regulatory requirements such as HESF and WCAG compliance. It’s designed to support Unit Coordinators and teaching staff in delivering an effective student experience, as well as meeting obligations under the Online Learning Resources Policy and meeting student accessibility needs through both UDL principles that support universal access and adjustments for students with Study Access Plans (SAPs).

The guide covers simple strategies that all staff can use without specialist knowledge, using standard Microsoft programs, myLearn tools and media platforms in the myLearn ecosystem. Staff can access the guide via Teaching Online @ UNE:
