The Higher Education Academy (HEA) is the national body in the United Kingdom which champions teaching quality to improve learning outcomes, by raising the quality and status of teaching in higher education as an essential driver for student success.

UNE academic staff have been preparing applications for admission as Fellows of the Higher Education Academy and in May this year Professor Alison Sheridan, Head of School for UNE Business School was admitted as Principal Fellow of the HEA (PFHEA).

Associate Professor Fredy-Roberto Valenzuela, Associate Professor Rene Villano, Dr Sujana Adapa and Dr Leopold Beyerlein were all admitted as Senior Fellows of the HEA (SFHEA).
