Biography:
Dr Alex Frino is Professor of Finance and Dean of Macquarie Graduate School of Management. He was formerly CEO of the Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre Ltd. He holds a Masters Degree in Finance from the University of Cambridge, England and a PhD in Finance from the University of Sydney.  His research specialisation is finance and financial markets and he has published over 100 articles in scholarly journals.  He has attracted over $5 million in Australian Research Council funding and has led a successful Cooperative Research Centre funding bid valued at over $100 million. In 2005, Professor Frino received the 2005 Fulbright Senior Scholar Award in recognition of his research achievements.  Professor Frino has previously held positions with CS First Boston, Sydney Futures Exchange, Australian Securities Exchange and Commodity Futures Trading Commission in the USA.

Biography: Dr. Franceso Capalbo is Senior Associate Professor of Accounting at Second University of Naples. He has written extensively on corporate governance issues in peer-reviewed journals. He is also an independent professional CPA since 1995. He has gained experience in assisting public and private clients in the field of finance, management accounting and financial accounting, with special focus on the IAS/IFRS implementation issues in listed companies and in the firm valuation business. He has mainly worked in the utilities sector assisting public owned companies in setting their reporting models. He cooperates with supreme Audit Court in assessing the damages occurred to public wealth from inappropriate behaviors of public administrators and public owned companies. He is member of independent audit and compliance bodies in several companies. Lately he has focused on the issue of debt restructuring of financially stressed companies.
