Due to business growth, a leading accountancy firm in Tamworth is looking for a motivated Accountant to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a relatively newly qualified person, or a graduate looking to take the next step in their career.

Responsibilities:

• Support month-end and year-end close process.
• formations, rollover, withdrawals, financial statements
and returns for self managed superannuation and other
various business structures.
• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions.
• Preparation of statutory reporting, statements and
summaries including BAS, PAYG, Income tax, FBT and
Payroll tax.
• Trust account and not for profit audits including; review,
preparation, reconcile & manage.
• Maintenance and monitoring of BAS and SMSF registers.
• Liaising with clients, the Australian Tax Office (ATO) &
other external agencies.

Required Skills / Experience:

• Demonstrated accounting experience.
• Undergraduate Accounting or Finance degree or currently
in the process of completing with a desire to complete a
CA and/or CPA qualification.
• A sound understanding of accounting standards (and be
able to apply them)
• Experience with a computerised accounting system.
• Strong and effective communication skills.
• The ability and willingness to show initiative.
• The ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable

• Public practice accounting experience.
