The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC)’s Statement 1 introduces the evolution and changes in management accounting, process, and conceptual framework (IFAC, 1998). IFAC has earned many interests from scholars and practitioners of how the progress of management accounting practices in Asian countries are, how management accounting practices evolutions have been, and how useful of such management accounting for management and professional associations in a working condition. The stage of management accounting evolution in Asian countries may not be similar to what stated by IFAC. Moreover, it is of our interest to investigate the level of success of management accounting practices in Asia Pacific whether within the last decade, any change in management accounting practices has occurred. What are the influences of such practices? How to enhance the management accounting practice of each country to support the sustainability of business and economics of the countries? These are critical questions to be answered. A questionnaire and in-depth interviews will be used as instruments to identify the evolution stages and factors influencing the management accounting practices in Asian countries.
