UNE Business School were joined by CPA Australia, Armidale Regional Council, Boyce Chartered Accountants Moree, Roberts & Morrow, Forsyths and Crowe Howarth to celebrate the award of 171 certificates to high achieving students.
The CPA Merit Awards Evening is proudly sponsored by CPA Australia (Certified Practising Accountants) each year. Merit Certificates are presented to high achieving students enrolled in undergraduate units, in Trimesters 1, 2 and 3, 2016 that make up part of the CPA Australia accredited courses. Awards will be presented where of appropriate merit (finishing in the top 5% of the unit with a distinction grade and above).
The evening provides an opportunity for the students to recognise and celebrate their hard work and commitment to obtaining a degree. This event also provided an opportunity for CPA to meet some of our top ranking students.
One hundred and seventy one certificates (171) were awarded to the top students from the three (3) Trimesters. This year 17 of our top students attended the CPA Merit Awards Evening with family and friends to receive their certificates. 27 certificates will be awarded to these students.
Attendees of the event were also lucky to hear from Anthony Matis FCPA on Networking with Impact and Personal Brand. Anthony’s success includes building mutualistic relationships with the tertiary sector, key institutional partners and students in Australia and Asia. In addition to his role with CPA Australia, Anthony has served on the Federal Government’s Small Business Advisory Committee and Better Regulation Working Group and is a current member of Southern Cross University’s Council and Audit Committee. Anthony is also serving as an Adjunct Associate Professor for The Notre Dame University Business School. Anthony’s diverse past experience includes roles in corporate service and audit, plus senior finance positions in industries such as fashion, health, public relations and advertising as well as holding several board positions.
The event was a fantastic evening and a good opportunity to connect with our students and recognise their hard work.
