Armidale Business Chamber hosted an event on the evening of Thursday June 2 designed to bring together the expertise of UNE Business School’s Professor John Rice (Discipline Leader, Management and Marketing) and Professor Derek Baker (Professor of Agribusiness and Value Chains) alongside Dave Fleming, SME Innovation Facilitator at CSIRO, for discussion on opportunities for collaboration with UNE as well as CSIRO.

Professor Baker was able to speak with several media outlets about the event, making appearances on 2AD, ABC News and Prime 7 news.

With motivation to build innovative culture in rural and regional areas, Professor Rice and Professor Baker took the opportunity to speak to some recently established data around employment and innovation in identifying both challenges and opportunities for the future of small business in the New England region.

It was a well-attended event upstairs at the White Bull Hotel with a great variety of local business owners and members of the academic community, with the chance to chat and network after the formalities of the night were concluded.

As a member of the Armidale Business Chamber, UNE Business School are very pleased to be part of such events and look forward to contributing to further events throughout the year.
