Our staff on the road: Josie Fisher attends Executive Academy for Teaching and Learning Professionals Program, Prague

by bamon2 | Jun 26, 2017 | International Engagement, Teaching Excellence | 0 comments

At the end of May, Josie attended the Executive Academy for Teaching and Learning Professionals Program (European Stream) in Prague which was offered by the EFMD Global Network.

As well as a packed program including sessions on leading oneself and leading others; managing successful programs; impact of globalization and digital disruption; and the changing needs of students, the group also attended a concert by the Prague String Quartet held in a very old monastery and a performance of Il Trovatore at the fabulous opera house.

The two big take home messages from the program are first, UNE is still comparatively advanced in its approach to online learning, although everyone is moving into this space and, second, ‘business as usual’ will not lead to success: business schools need to identify a unique value proposition and create courses that meet the particular needs of their students.

The one week program included participants from Business Schools in Russia, France, Norway, Switzerland, Spain, Slovenia, Belgium, Sweden, Germany, Croatia, Finland, Austria, Italy, Hungary, United Kingdom, Czech Republic and Australia.
