Dr John Anderson, Senior Lecturer in Finance at UNE Business School, has found himself called upon regularly by The Northern Daily Leader’s Jacob McArthur in the lead up to the Federal Election to speak to a range of topics as they come up in campaigns and election promises.

On May 3 – “Superannuation Changes Widely Welcomed“, Dr Anderson made comment to McArthur on proposed superannuation tax concessions, noting that these would prove a welcome change with noticeable impact for some families.

On June 22 – “Greens call for big tax slug on sugary drinks“, Dr Anderson strongly approved of plans put forward by the Greens to propose a sugary drinks tax, stating “[f]rom an economic perspective, it would increase the budget bottom line and the health benefits would be instant”.

Most recently on July 4 – “Hung Parliament not Healthy”, Dr Anderson talks about the issues a hung parliament creates for economic stability and policy making.
