ASEAN Business Plan Competition – Thailand National Competition, 7 May 2018

The ASEAN Virtual Business Plan Competition is supported by the Australian Government through the Australian-ASEAN Council (AAC) of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and involves institutions from three countries: the University of New England in Australia, the Universiti Teknologi MARA in Malaysia, and Rangsit University in Thailand.

This ASEAN Virtual Business Plan Competition in Thailand is a series of four events: two training days – held on 10th March and 21 April 2018, and the national competition, which was held on 7th May 2018.

The International Business Plan Competition will be conducted virtually on 3rd July 2018 with Malaysia and Australia.

The competition in Thailand received 80 teams or 232 registrations. Among these are students from 9 countries – Burma, Cambodia, China, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Pakistan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

From this stage, 10 teams were invited to submit a full business plan with the length maximum of 5,000 words. The list of the 10 teams are as follows.

The National Competition was held in Thailand on 7th May 2018, and we’re pleased to share the top 3 winning teams.

HOCO: Home Convenience (HOCO) is an application for unemployed people who like to use their cooking skills to create jobs and generate income in private homes.

The HOCO business is designed to provide work for individuals and in families. HOCO is about homemade food where people can get fresh, traditional, organic, hygiene, Halal, healthy, and customized by and for the different cultural groups in Thailand.

POCKETEACH: Pocketeach is an application that acts as an interactive medium connecting qualified tutors with students, providing a variety of courses to choose from. The platform allows tutors to livestream classes at scheduled times, and students can interact by typing questions into the livestream chat.    

UNWIND:  Unwind is an app that provides a way for people to talk to therapists and counselors, giving them privacy, convenience, and choice. Users sign up for an account, submitting information about themselves and their preferences (e.g., language proficiency, area of expertise).
