We share with UNE School of Environmental and Rural Science in offering warm congratulations to UNE graduates Kirsty McCormack (Bachelor of Rural Science) and Kristy-Lee Fogarty (Bachelor of Agribusiness) in being named finalists for their states QLD and NT respectively in the Cattle Councils Rising Champions Competition. Our two alumni have made great strides in their careers after their studies with UNE, standing out of other contenders for their passion for education and technology in the agricultural sector.

We are looking forward to wishing Kirsty the best of luck in person when she is here to contribute to the Rural Focus Symposium later this month.

The NAB Agribusiness Rising Champions Initiative is a focus for the Cattle Council, aiming to collaborate with exceptional young people in the beef industry in making future-facing decisions around policy and practice.

The seven state finalists will attend a three-day program in Canberra on 22-24 August, networking with staff from the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources, learning effective communication techniques, developing their leadership skills, and participating in Cattle Council committee meetings.

The 2016 winner will be announced at a gala dinner on 24 August. Best of luck to our two alumni!
