Did You Know You Can Find Data Literacy Resources in the UNE Datahub?
There are a range of handy Data Literacy resources available on the Data Literacy page in the UNE Datahub.
There is a Power BI Resources Library, where you can find a number of short videos which include Power BI Tips, Terminology and Tools (for developers) and a section with recordings of all our latest Dashboard Roadshow sessions.
You will also find recordings of some Data Literacy training sessions that we have run (including their resources). Session recordings include our “Data Fundamentals” course, “Data Visualisation for Data Consumers” and “Data Visualisation in-depth for Report Creators”.
The Data Literacy page is the place to go to find out what Data Literacy events are coming up and how to register for them.
Should you ever have any questions or need assistance from the BI team, please reach out to us through the Help Centre in the UNE Datahub.
University Credit Card Allowable Expenses
Credit card holders are reminded that certain purchases are not allowable under UNE’s credit card policy. This month we look at fines, penalties and infringements.
If you incur a fine while travelling on behalf of the University, including conferences and training, that cost is not an allowable expense. Fines can include:
- Speeding & red-light violations
- Traffic infringements, including mobile phone use (other than hands-free)
- Parking fines **
- Tow away charges
- Library fines
** Parking fees are an allowable expense when travelling, and outside UNE, but penalties for exceeding the time limit are not allowable.
Why? – These charges are considered to be personal expenses and the University will therefore be liable to pay Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) on them.
Revised Process for Eftsure Onboarding for UNE Staff and Students
After collating feedback from a wide variety of stakeholders, the Financial Operations team are implementing a different method for bringing student and staff accounts into TechOne for payment and Eftsure for verification prior to payment.
From 30 June 2025, UNE Staff and Students will use the following process to register bank details for assorted payments including reimbursements, allowances, refunds, prizes, scholarships and placement payments:
- Staff and Students will complete the UNE Student and Staff Finance Registration form. The link will be publicly available at the Supplying to UNE website and will allow individuals to provide their bank details and bank account evidence directly to our team.
- UNE Financial Operations will use those details to register or update the payment account in TechOne and Eftsure.
- The payee and UNE Staff Contact will be notified by email once the payee is registered for payments.
The new form will replace the content of the Eftsure Onboarding form. The link can be included in your current processes and documents and embedded in your email templates. Unfortunately, we are not able to revert back to bulk spreadsheet chart creation as it does not allow for confirmation of bank details.
The existing Eftsure Onboarding process for staff and students will remain active until we are certain the new process is fully implemented across all affected processes. We expect to decommission the Staff and Student Eftsure Onboarding form at the end of July 2025.
The existing 2 step method for Supplier Onboarding via Eftsure will remain in place for all other suppliers and payees.
Thank you for your patience as we work to meet audit and cyber security requirements. If you have any further feedback or queries email financehelp@une.edu.au.
Please ensure you meet the Pre-Course Requirements before attending training. For more system information, visit the Finance Systems page.
