On Wednesday, the Graduate Research School held the University Final of the 2023 Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition where students were given the challenge of presenting their 80,000 word thesis in under three minutes.

Psychology postgraduate student Jai Meynadier was crowned the winner for his thought-provoking presentation about why people become addicted to social media, and how we can treat it, while AGBU’s Zeinab Manzari received the People’s Choice award for her presentation about how we can use genetics to breed more profitable cattle herds.

Jai and Zeinab were selected from a pool of 14 students from across the university, and will now go on to compete in the virtual Asia-Pacific final on Wednesday 18 October.
