Three individual researchers and a team have been recognised in the inaugural Vice-Chancellor Citations for Education Excellence.

The Vice-Chancellor Citations are UNE’s highest level of Citation and recognise colleagues who are among the University of New England’s exceptional educators. Receiving a Vice-Chancellor Citation demonstrates an outstanding contribution to student learning and dedication to the provision of quality education.

The 2022 recipients of the Vice-Chancellor Citations for Education Excellence are:

Dr Bee Moss (UNE Business School, Faculty of SABL) for successfully transforming theoretically-based auditing subjects that re-engage students through story-telling and authentic practice.

Dr Kristy O’Neill (School of Education, Faculty of HASSE) for leadership in Health and Physical Education (HPE) curriculum development that builds Initial Teacher Education (ITE) student engagement in online learning.

Associate Professor Stuart Wark (School of Rural Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Health) for improving our graduate clinical competence: Development, implementation and quality improvement of a new medical degree across the University of New England and University of Newcastle.

UNE Concierge Team – Ms Kate Pardy, Mrs Anna Dellow, Mrs Airlie Bell (Education Enterprise, Education Futures) for delivering a student-centred, solutions-focused, career connected postgraduate award unique to each student, that provides professional career coaching to meet each student’s career objective.

Vice-Chancellor Citations are awarded in recognition of excellence across four areas:

  • Impacting on student learning and the student experience.
  • Gaining recognition from colleagues, institution and the wider community.
  • Showing creativity, imagination and innovation.
  • Engaging in scholarly teaching practices.

With all Faculties and Education Future represented, this is testament to the breadth of talent and educational quality at UNE.

Thanks to the UNE community who have supported these successful colleagues at the School and Faculty level through support, mentorship and sitting on School and Faculty Assessor Panels, and congratulations to all our 2022 Vice-Chancellor Citations for Education Excellence recipients!
