UNE Cultural and Creative Arts Network – a call for members!

U-CCAN is a research collective that promotes all engagements with creative arts and culture at UNE through both traditional and non-traditional methods. We are a network open to members from all faculties and invite staff from any field with an interest in cultural and creative arts to join us. While many of our current members hail from HASS we are sure there are colleagues across the university whose work could be profiled and supported by the network.

We foster inter-disciplinary research potential for our members through research events, public talks, promotion, and project development opportunities. Our members commonly connect practice and investigation in their diverse work and we support the recognition of non-traditional research outputs as a core component of UNE’s research activities.

U-CCAN is aligned with UNE’s Future Fit strategy, specifically ‘Empowering Communities’ and ‘Building Resilience’. and our activities are focused on emerging fields of scholarly arts enquiry and artistic practice. We also value our strong connections with professional and community organisations across Australia.
We welcome new voices into our network to expand disciplinary perspectives and are open to areas including but not at all limited to: arts management; well-being and art therapy; copyright and authorship law; and the physics of sound and acoustics.

All staff whose work crosses over or could cross over with cultural and creative arts can contact uccan@une.edu.au to be invited to our future events and members’ meetings and be added to our growing list of active researchers.
