Calls for help were at an all-time high across UNE as COVID-19 measures peaked across the country – hundreds per month. Our students have grappled with changing circumstances, job losses, physical distance and more.

Through our COVID-19 Emergency Fund, 220 students have accessed approximately $220,000 to help them cover essential living or study expenses such as groceries, utilities, prac travel and accommodation, internet data and computing equipment.

Others have been able to access the Armidale campus food pantry; food parcels, vouchers and deliveries at various locations including Tamworth and Sydney; UNE counsellors; or referrals to other services.

Students can still apply for our ongoing Student Emergency Assistance Fund, here: https://www.une.edu.au/scholarships/student-emergency-assistance-fund

It’s also one of our priorities in our 2020 Annual Appeal, so if you can contribute, we thank you for the difference you’ll make: https://www.une.edu.au/alumni/give-to-une/2020-appeal
