As a result of the COVID-19 health crisis, UNE is taking action to support student and staff wellbeing and to make arrangements for the continuation of UNE’s core business functions.

In this environment of rapid change, a consistent approach to decision making and the keeping of evidence of the decisions (including rationale) is ever important. UNE has identified a number of tools and TRIM containers that can help staff members to keep track of the COVID-19 related actions. You are encouraged to keep good records in TRIM and a register of the decisions being made now – knowing that this will save time in the future when UNE responds to student or staff enquiries or issues, takes steps to return to business as usual practice and responds (as required) to regulatory reviews of the quality impact of our decisions during the pandemic.

Further as you may be dealing with personal or health information provided by students – privacy principles should be considered in all communications and information storage and use/disclosure decisions. UNE’s Privacy Officer Caitlin Rowe is available to help you if you have any concerns in this regard, or to review communications, surveys or other such information collection tasks that might have privacy implications.

Please visit UNE’s COVID-19 webpages for staff –  Supporting Information for Staff for summary privacy and recordkeeping guides and specific COVID-19 TRIM information and containers.

Please be aware the Records Policy and Governance team is there if you need help. The best emails are records@une.edu.au, or privacy@une.edu.au or policies@une.edu.au.
