Have you ever struggled to find the right policy, rule or procedure in your day-to-day work?

 – You are not alone!

UNE is engaging in an ambitious project of reforming the entire UNE policy suite to substantially reduce the number of documents and provide a clear and simpler policy structure and hierarchy.

UNE’s Records, Policy and Governance Unit is leading the Policy Reform Project that aims to have no more than a dozen principle-based policies, supplemented by a range of procedures and guidelines. Our goal is that UNE’s policies work for us – not the other way around.

There is ample evidence that a well-designed principle-based policy suite is informed and shaped by those who interact with it on a regular basis and is a culture-building quality assurance tool that provides consistency and clear roles and responsibilities. That’s why we are asking for everyone’s input.

We are starting to consult with faculties and Directorates on defining our principles that will then shape new supplementary documents.

I you have not heard about this project or have a few questions, come along to a public forum on Friday 22 November 2019 from 12:00 to 13:00 in the Paul Barrett lecture theatre (S006).

We will give a 20 minute presentation on the project with the rest of the time dedicated to a Q&A session.

For any questions, please contact Gabrielle Price, Head of Records, Policy and Governance, on x3445 or gabrielle.price@une.edu.au.
