What is Financial Performance & Analytical Services?

The new Financial Performance & Analytical Services team comprises Finance, Procurement and Corporate Planning and Analytics, all reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The group was previously known as the CFO Group.

Why the name change?

The re‐branding provides a name that better communicates to the wider University community what the unit does and offers as a team. It is also to reflect the group’s future focus, moving from process‐driven results towards an integrated and effective planning, finance and performance management framework.

The group’s vision focusses on this framework and value‐adding for its business partners, providing systems, data and analysis to empower these partners to achieve excellence.

FPAS will continue its financial stewardship on behalf of UNE and ensure compliance with policy, procedure, applicable laws and standards.

What does this mean?

Generally speaking, business partnerships will continue as usual. FPAS’s vision moves it from a position in which many systems rely on manual, process‐driven tasks, towards using technology and innovation to decentralise, automate and streamline these systems where possible. The change demands learning of new systems, but it also provides opportunity for the group to further build value in its business relationships and ensure that it is providing relevant, robust and innovative information in order to help partners make excellent decisions.

Financial Performance and Analytical Services hope to connect with our business partners in 2018 to discuss their specific needs.
