Thai alumnus of UNE, Dr Phudit Tejativaddhana, has been recognised with the 2017 Alumni Leadership Award at a gala dinner in Bangkok.

Dr Tejativaddhana has extensive experience in senior executive roles in both the public and private sector in Thailand. He is now the Assistant to the President for Comprehensive Operations of the Naresuan University (NU) at Phitsanulok in Thailand, and Assistant Professor of the College of Health Systems Management at NU.

He is a leading scholar whose research focuses on health reforms, system management and primary healthcare. He was instrumental in setting up the South-East Asia Primary Health Care Innovations Network (SEAPIN).

Dr Tejativaddhana graduated from UNE in 2008 with a Doctor of Health Sciences Management.

The awards were co-ordinated by an umbrella group called “Australian Alumni” whose mission is to unite and support graduates of Australian universities and other Australian institutions of higher learning.

Australian Alumni is backed by the Australian – Thai Chamber of Commerce with strong support from the Australian Embassy in Bangkok. The organisation works with university alumni-related organisations in Thailand. They provide a platform for connecting the community of Australian graduates and recognising their personal and professional achievements with five annual awards:  Alumnus of the Year, Leadership, Entrepreneurial, Young Alumnus, and Community Engagement.
