Week 2 is an excellent time to contact those students who have not yet logged into your Moodle unit.
Atrium makes this so simple to do! Specific steps are provided below.
We all know that there are many reasons why a student might not have logged into Moodle yet – they might be managing other priorities in their life, or they might not know how to access Moodle. And we also acknowledge students might be at risk of getting behind in their learning. A personal message via Atrium to a student can make a massive difference, like the following example.
A COLLEAGUE’S RECENT EXPERIENCE
Last week, Karen Conte, from the School of Law, used Atrium to contact students who had not logged into Moodle. In her message, Karen described the interesting things to learn in the first module and extended them help to get started.
Karen received a few replies. One grateful student mentioned how much it meant to them to receive the personalized message, and another student said that it made them feel ‘that they were more than a number’. Both of these students have now since logged into Moodle and are engaging in the unit.
