The University of New England (UNE) has recently renewed and updated its password policy and requirements. The purpose of our Password Policy it so to establish and maintain a standardised level of security and for the creation of strong passwords for all UNE users and accounts.

To view the full Password Policy, please view our UNE Policy Register.

A poorly chosen password may result not only in the compromise of an individual’s account but also in the compromise of UNE’s entire network. A compromised password may be the first step to a further security breach or the hijacking of an account for other purposes. All UNE students and staff members are responsible for adhering to this policy to secure their account and password. Do not share your password with anyone under any circumstances.

Policy Change

The new policy enforces all general UNE passwords to contain at least 10 characters, this has been changed from previously only 8 characters. Please ensure your current and future password meets the requirements in line with our policy. Even if your password is already 10 characters or more, TDS are requesting all UNE Staff and Representatives change their UNE password and make sure it meets or exceeds the new password length requirements.

Please review the resources available to help you change your password.
