Welcome to Trimester 3 2023!

As the new trimester kicks off, staying up to date and maintaining organisation are crucial elements for a successful academic journey. We understand the challenges that university life presents so here are 5 tips to assist you in managing your current workload.

  1. Plan and Prioritise

Planning essential tasks in advance can help you stay organised. Updating your diary regularly and setting aside an adequate amount of time to study for each unit per week will assist you in staying on top of your studies. Ensuring time for other activities including work, socialising and taking time to focus on your physical and mental health will ensure a healthy work-life balance. The UNE 2023 Calendar can assist you in this process.

  1. Utilise UNE Resources

Both the UNE Library and Student Counselling Services are accessible to online and on-campus students, as well as the UNE 101 MyLearn unit designed to teach you everything you need to know about studying online. These facilities and services can help you start your studies on the right track.

  1. Unlock the Wisdom of Your Learning Facilitators

Your learning facilitators are there to help you every step of the way so use this to your advantage. Their knowledge and experience could help you unlock a new level of understanding and personal growth.

  1. Discover your Study Style

Implementing strategies utilising your strengths can greatly impact your productivity. This could be as simple as colour-coding, making flashcards or setting up a study-friendly space to keep you focused. Experimenting with different strategies can help you find your sweet spot.

  1. Surround Yourself with Like-Minded Students

Connecting with classmates, whether it’s in-person or virtually, can be a valuable source of discipline, assistance and feedback that you need to enhance your university experience and boost your grades. Setting up study sessions can motivate you and help you learn from others to expand your own knowledge and study strategies.

Studying is a journey, and we are here to assist you every step of the way. If you’re experiencing any issues UNE Student Experience will be hosting Trimester 3 Check-Up Week, giving you a last-minute opportunity to ask any questions before the Trimester 3 Census date. Census Day, Monday, 20 November, will be the last day to withdraw from units without any academic penalty.

If you have any questions or queries, feel free to join the live, interactive webinar on Thursday, 16 November, 3pm AEDT. We’ll cover everything from how to access online resources to tips for time management, but most importantly answer any questions you need answering at this stage in your study journey.

Remember, at UNE, we’re all about empowering you to succeed. Let’s make Trimester 3 the best one yet!
