Priority IT systems maintenance is scheduled for Saturday, 24 July between 6:00am and 11:00am. As a result, some IT services will experience periods of disruption.

Several recently announced security vulnerabilities potentially affect UNE systems. Technology and Digital Services (TDS) will be performing out-of-cycle patching to immediately address these issues to make sure that our systems remain secure.

Tomorrow morning, Saturday, 24 July starting at 6:00am, several servers maintained by TDS will be restarted. This work will take place over a 5 hour period finishing at 11:00am.

While Student facing systems will be minimally impacted, administrative systems, such as the Student and HR systems, may be impacted for several hours.

Every effort will be made to minimise disruption, however some disruption is unavoidable as we update systems to remove this vulnerability.

Staff should expect intermittent outages as systems are restarted following maintenance updates.

For Students: Moodle and student email should NOT be affected:

  • No work is planned on Moodle. However, we recommend that you download any materials (such as readings and lecture recording) you require over the weekend to your local system to make sure you have access in case of any on-campus network outages or disruptions that affect connections to local systems. If access via MyUNE is not available, please access your units directly in Moodle.
  • Student Email (Office365 emails @edu.au) should be available throughout the day.

This event is for priority maintenance and TDS regrets the limited amount of time to forewarn the community.  Cybersecurity and our ability to protect our systems and information is a critical business activity which in some circumstances cannot be delayed.

The schedule of maintenance windows for 2021 can be found on the TDS website.

Service Desk support will be available during the weekend from 9am to 5pm, please contact Ext.5000 or the Service Now portal if you are experiencing problems after the maintenance outage.

If you have any questions or concerns don’t hesitate to contact our IT Support team at Ext.5000 or using our online portal https://une.service-now.com/sp_it .
