The next IT maintenance is scheduled for Saturday, 16th May between 6am and 6pm. As a result, some services will experience periods of disruption.

Staff and students working or studying physically on campus  should expect intermittent outages as systems are restarted following maintenance updates. Network connections (including the wireless network) as well as internet access will be unavailable in different locations across campus during the day.

For off-campus students: Moodle and student email should NOT be affected.

  • No work is planned on Moodle. However, we recommend that you download any materials (such as readings and lecture recording) you require over the weekend to your local system to make sure you have access in case of any on-campus network outages or disruptions that affect connections to local systems.  If access via MyUNE is not available, please access your units directly in Moodle.
  • Student Email (Office365 emails @myune.edu.au) should be available throughout the day.
  • Barney file services will be migrated on this weekend. Barney will be in “read-only mode” from 4pm Friday 15th May. No new data will be able to written to Barney until the migration is complete.

This event is one of ITD’s scheduled maintenance windows, during which essential work is carried out to enhance and improve University systems.

The schedule of maintenance windows for 2020 can be found on the ITD website.

Service Desk support will be available during the weekend from 9am to 5pm, please contact servicedesk@une.edu.au or the Service Now portal if you are experiencing problems after the maintenance outage.

Important note: Barney (also known as S: and H: drives) will be migrated this weekend to new infrastructure in our Sydney Data Centre. Barney will need to be placed into “read-only mode” from 4pm Friday 15th May. No new data will be able to written to Barney until the migration is complete.

If you have services that write directly to Barney, please be aware that it will not be able to be written to from 4pm Friday 15th May.
