Looking for a creative way to express yourself? If you’re looking for some inspiration and a place to share your creative and mindful activities – we want to connect!

Creative New England is a central hub where you can get involved in creative competitions and activities hosted by UNE. It is open to everyone that has a connection to UNE or the New England Region, which means staff, students, alumni and the wider community. The group has been created as a tool for connection, enjoyment, inspiration, and support in our community during this time of uncertainty.

They will be holding regular competitions and stimulating creativity within the community, no matter where you are, with tutorials, demonstrations and how-to-guides developed with some of the talented artists, performers, writers and creative organisations in the New England region of Australia.

We invite you, your colleagues, community, students, family etc to enter their first short story competition. This competition is a collaboration between Creative New England, New England Writers Centre and Armidale-based author Sophie Masson.

Check out the instructions here. This competition is open to all, so get everyone involved!

How to get involved:

  • share some of your creations and creative experiences with the group,
  • comment on and/or share some of the work of other New England creatives, AND/OR
  • get in contact with us about collaborating – we’re looking for creators and makers, people that will share their skills and ideas with the community.

Under-18s entries will be supervised by a parent or guardian.
