Graduation parking & traffic changes this weekend (3rd & 4th May); Please use special event parking
With our May Graduation Ceremonies being held this coming Friday & Saturday (3rd and 4th May), we would like to advise the UNE community that Special Event Parking will be established on the corner of Elm Ave and Trevenna Rd on both days to accommodate the expected increase in vehicle numbers attending the ceremony’s.
In addition to this we would also like to advise that Booloominbah Drive will be closed to general traffic from 7.00am till 2.00pm on both Graduation days, while the ceremonies take place. However, parking for V.I.P guests attending the ceremonies will be established in the parking bays on Booloominbah Drive opposite the Deer Park during this period.
Alternate general parking to Booloominbah Drive on these days can be found in either the Lower Eastern Car Park &/or the Special Event Parking area.
Shuttle buses will run back and forth between the listed areas to locations that are only a short walk to the Graduation area at Booloominbah. This service will run from the opening of registration. Additionally, to park in purple visitor parking bays on weekdays, you will need to purchase a parking coupon. There is no need to pay for parking on weekends. You can read more about visitor parking here.
In case of wet weather:
In the event of inclement weather, the Western carpark will be reserved for Special Event Parking rather than the corner of Elm Avenue and Trevenna Rd. This decision is to ensure the safety and comfort of all graduands, guests and staff involved.
An announcement will be made on the day if the ceremonies will be taking place under wet weather conditions, so it’s a good idea to keep an eye on the Ed.Une Facebook page for updates.
Thank you for your cooperation.
