UNE researchers now have a ready-made channel to put their expertise in front of the media when it matters.
The Australian Science Media Centre runs Scimex, an online portal used by journalists covering breaking science across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. It includes a searchable expert database that reporters use to find credible voices, fast.
We’re encouraging UNE academics to register as media-available experts on Scimex.
Why it’s worth your time:
- Your expertise is visible when your field hits the news
- You join a network of more than 1,900 Australian experts
- Around 2,400 journalists from 45 countries use Scimex
- The expert database is searched about 6,000 times each year by vetted journalists
If you want to shape public debate, explain your research beyond the journal article, or respond quickly when issues in your field break, register on Scimex. It’s a practical way to raise the profile of your work and strengthen UNE’s voice in national and international media.
