Congratulations to Dr Kashmira Dave and to the Careers Team, led by Kate Pardy, for earning national recognition for their work to strengthen student success.

At the 2025 ASCILITE conference, Kashmira picked up two awards: Best Full Paper for her autoethnographic account of navigating Australian higher education as a migrant academic, and the Emerging Scholar Award for her contribution to research and practice in technology-enhanced learning.

The Careers Team received the NAGCAS Excellence Award in Supporting Student Success for their work in DYPP100. The judges noted their practical approach to engaging diverse student cohorts, widening access to career development services, and embedding careers support across curriculum and targeted programs, including for students from equity backgrounds.

Together these awards show how UNE staff are pairing smart teaching, technology and career know-how to give students the best chance at success.
