At the University of New England, inclusion is more than a principle — it is something we put into action every day. This week, UNE is celebrating Inclusion at Work Week, a national initiative that shines a light on the ways we can all help create workplaces where everyone feels they belong.
Guided by the Belonging@UNE Action Plan 2025–2027, the week explores five themes that reflect UNE’s commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion:
Disability Inclusion and Accessibility, Cultural Diversity, LGBTQIA+ Pride and Allyship, Gender Equity, and Intersectionality.
Throughout the week, UNE is encouraging staff and students to take part in activities and conversations that make inclusion visible — from learning about accessible workplace design and inclusive communication, to recognising the role of allyship and equitable leadership. These everyday actions help ensure that everyone in the UNE community feels valued, supported and respected.
UNE’s commitment to belonging extends across every part of our organisation — in how we work, study, communicate and lead. The Belonging@UNE plan continues to guide this journey, ensuring that accessibility, representation and cultural safety are at the centre of what we do.
