Welcome to Tim Hume who has commenced as Interim Chief Information and Digital Officer (CIDO) in Future Students, Engagement and Technology.

Tim will be with the team until the end of November while the recruitment process for the permanent CIDO position is completed. He will be caretaking all CIDO responsibilities during this transition period.

Thanks to Tim Mannes who has acted in the CIO role and will return to his substantive role in TDS.

Tim Hume is a senior executive and management consultant with extensive experience leading digital transformation, ICT strategy, and organisational change across higher education, government, and the private sector. He specialises in helping complex organisations modernise their systems, optimise operations, and navigate large-scale change.

Tim is currently Principal at Hume Consulting, prior to this he served as Chief Information and Digital Officer at Macquarie University.

Tim remembers coming to Armidale many times as a student in high school, having grown up in Coonamble in the central west.

“The opportunity to help UNE on its IT and digital service journey was a no brainer and one I couldn’t resist, I just needed to get some warmer clothes!”

“The vast majority of my leadership career has been one of service. Many people say “you and your team provide IT and Digital services”, but the truth is more complex and much more than that.

“I lead teams that provide services to the public, or those that serve them, or students and those that serve them. This is a focus that should never be lost, a career based on service is incredibly rewarding when you consider the lives you may have a positive impact on, it drives great clarity on what we do and how we do it.”

Tim will be based in Armidale.

And, in other FSET news, a warm welcome to Lisa Burr who joins the FSET team as Executive Support Leader.
