Following the 2024 All Staff Engagement Survey (the 2024 Survey), UNE has taken a significant step forward in its commitment to transparency, accountability, and meaningful staff engagement with the launch of the Staff Engagement Action Planning SharePoint site.

This site has been developed as a central platform to support the University’s response to the feedback provided by staff across all areas. The 2024 Survey identified seven key themes where staff felt there were opportunities for institutional improvement. In response, the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), in collaboration with People and Culture, has developed a strategy to deliver targeted, measurable actions under each of these themes.

The SharePoint site plays a critical role in that strategy, enabling real-time visibility of institutional actions and providing staff with clear pathways to engage with and contribute to their implementation. It has been designed to be easy to navigate and informative, allowing staff to:

  • View the full range of institutional actions being undertaken in response to the 2024 Survey results;
  • Register their interest in participating in specific initiatives or projects aligned to the seven key themes;
  • Provide feedback, suggestions, or seek clarification on actions directly through the platform.

Importantly, this approach supports UNE’s commitment to open communication and collaborative change. The SharePoint site ensures that progress is not only reported but also shaped by the continued input of our staff community.

To activate the site, the Executive Team has endorsed the proposed actions and supported a framework for the allocation of action owners and the management of workflows. These actions are now live, and updates will be posted regularly as work progresses.

Why It Matters

This site is not just a repository of information—it is a practical tool designed to embed transparency and accountability into our engagement efforts. Staff across all directorates and faculties are encouraged to explore the site and take an active role in the implementation of actions that reflect their own feedback.

The platform aligns with UNE’s broader strategic goals of strengthening staff participation and fostering a culture of trust, shared ownership, and continuous improvement. It also demonstrates the University’s responsiveness to staff voices and the importance of collaborative implementation, beyond consultation alone.

Get Involved

We encourage all staff to take the time to explore the site, learn more about the projects underway, and consider how you might like to be involved. Whether through registering your interest, providing feedback, or simply staying informed, your engagement is valued and essential.
