The RaPT Food Pantry at UNE Tamworth has been established as a vital support service addressing food insecurity and essential needs among our student population. This initiative provides students with free access to non-perishable food items including rice, noodles, and long-life milk, as well as essential stationery supplies and female hygiene products.

Operating on a “take what you need” basis, the Food Pantry creates a dignified, accessible support system that recognises the financial challenges many students face while pursuing their educational goals.

This initiative directly aligns with UNE’s strategic commitment to student success, focusing on key factors that impact student progression, retention, and completion rates. By addressing basic needs security, the RaPT Food Pantry supports student wellbeing and reduces the likelihood that financial hardship will interrupt academic progress.

The program represents a practical demonstration of UNE’s holistic approach to student support, acknowledging that academic success is intrinsically linked to meeting fundamental living requirements. Through this initiative, UNE Tamworth reinforces its dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive regardless of their financial circumstances.

RaPT is a HEPPP funded project.
