Two UNE staff members are swapping their work shoes for dance shoes in the 2025 Stars of Armidale Dance for Cancer, raising vital funds for Cancer Council.
Hailey Cameron, Specialist, Donor Relations in Advancement, Alumni & Events, is taking to the dance floor to support the one in two Australians who will face a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. She’s asking the UNE community to get behind her as she steps up to raise funds for cancer research, prevention programs and support services. Support Hailey here.
Also competing this year is Associate Professor Melanie Fillios, Director of Place-Based Education and an Associate Professor in Archaeology, who will be dancing alongside her son, William. For them, this cause is deeply personal. William lost his dad and uncle to cancer at a young age, and Melanie has witnessed the impact of the disease across generations of her family. Thankfully, her father is now in remission—made possible by cancer research. They are determined to help others affected by cancer and would love your support. Donate to Melanie and William here.
Every dollar raised helps fund life-saving research and essential support services for Australians living with cancer so let’s get behind Hailey, Melanie, and William as they dance for a future free of cancer.
