Join us on Thursday, 20 March from 10am to 2pm in the UNE Armidale campus courtyard, as we recognise National Close the Gap Day—a day focused on improving health, education, and employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. In line with these priorities, UNE will also be launching its Aboriginal Employment Strategy 2025-2029 on the day.

A variety of Aboriginal service providers will be there on the day and up to 20 stalls will be available to showcase your service and business that’s helps to Close the Gap. UNE student recruitment staff will also be providing information about study options at UNE for students who are looking at studying at UNE. Schools who have confirmed interest include; Armidale Secondary College, Walcha Central School and Uralla Central School.

Activities on the day will include

  • Cultural Dancers (ASC)
    Painting stations
  • Cultural Immersion activities
  • Range of free food options
  • Employment workshops for students
  • Live entertainment
  • Guest speakers
  • Bush food tasting and damper making
