Congratulations to Professor Rene Villano, who has been named a Distinguished Fellow of the Australasian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society (AARES), one of only three recipients of this prestigious honour in 2024.
The award, presented at AARES’s 69th Annual Conference in Brisbane, recognises members who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and impact in their field. Distinguished Fellows are selected for their sustained contributions to research, teaching, and policy development in agricultural and resource economics.
Professor Villano’s recognition reflects his significant influence in shaping both academic discourse and practical applications within the field. The Distinguished Fellow Award further acknowledges his leadership in research and teaching programs relevant to AARES’s mission.
With this award, Professor Villano joins a select group of scholars who have helped advance our understanding of agricultural and resource economics in the Australasian region.
