All staff are invited to participate in the 2025 Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) survey.

AWEI is the definitive national benchmark on LGBTQ workplace inclusion and comprises the largest and only national employee survey designed to gauge the overall impact of inclusion initiatives on organisational culture as well as identifying and non-identifying employees. The Index drives best practice in Australia and sets a comparative benchmark for Australian employers across all sectors.

Following UNE’s participation in the 2024 AWEI Survey, which provided the benchmark for LGBTQIA+ inclusion at UNE, we now aim to assess progress of our equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives over time.

This important initiative is a further component of the University’s work on reshaping culture to affirm UNE’s commitment to a safe, engaged and accessible workplace. For more information on the other related initiatives, please visit ‘Culture at UNE’.]

  • Participation in this survey is voluntary and anonymous.
  • The survey takes approx. 15 minutes to complete.
  • The survey closes at midnight on Monday 24 February 2025.
  • The data you provide is linked only to the name of the organisation that provided you with this survey. Your name, specific location, role or qualifications are not requested, nor kept within the survey at any time.

The data from this survey will be used to compare UNE LGBTQAI+ inclusion to that of other universities, other employers across Australia against UNE’s results from the 2024 AWEI Survey. People & Culture will use the data to inform UNE inclusion strategies and programs in 2025 and beyond.
