In a world teeming with fake news, crazy conspiracy theories, and vicious political discourse, how do we maintain trust?

That’s the important discussion at this month’s Skeptics In The Pub on Tuesday August 20 at the Railway Hotel in Rusden St.

Guest speaker is respected Armidale GP, Dr James Meyer, whose presentation is designed to challenge and entertain.

His topic is: “So You Think You’re an Expert?” Skeptical Critical Thinking Vs. Cynical Anti-Intellectualism.

Dr Meyer will explore the growing phenomenon of people mistrusting and rejecting expert advice, not just in medicine, but across all of the

professions.

Skeptics In The Pub is affiliated with Australian Skeptics Inc and aims to foster critical thinking, reason, and the scientific method.

The event is free and is open to everyone.

Arrive at 6pm. Order and pay for dinner and drinks, and settle back to hear Dr Meyer’s presentation, followed by a lively discussion session.
