UNE supported a community event last week in Tamworth that offered free clothing, food, and education advice to all.
Local op shop Talking Threads provided clothing and giveaways, UNE provided a barbecue and education packs, and Tamworth Family Support Service brought the family fun activities – all offered free.
It was a very successful event that attracted 250-plus people throughout the day, hosted in a local hall.
“UNE had a great time working on this event with local stakeholders and the community,” UNE Tamworth Stakeholder Engagement Co-ordinator Jake Morris said.
“It allowed us to share information on what UNE is currently doing and also what is upcoming, such as our wonderful new campus.
“Tamworth UNE staff got to know other organisations active in the area and gained some clarity on how UNE can work alongside them in the near future.
“Our team provided helpful advice to students who have studied or currently are studying at UNE.
“It also gave UNE staff the opportunity to inform the wider community about our TRAX and Pathways programs, how to access them, and the help and advice UNE Tamworth can give throughout their further education journey.”
