UNE is celebrating Autumn Graduation on 10 and 11 May and are inviting academic and professional staff  to process at one or more of the graduation ceremonies  Actively participating in these ceremonies is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the successes of our graduands and to connect in-person with colleagues from across the University. Details of the ceremonies are provided below:

  • Friday, 10 May at 3:00pm: Faculty of Science, Agriculture, Business and Law
  • Saturday, 11 May at 10:30am: Faculty of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Education
  • Saturday, 11 May at 3:00pm: Faculty of Medicine and Health

Location
The graduation ceremonies will be held on the southern lawns of Booloominbah. Robing will take place in the Booloominbah Council Room and staff are requested to gather 30 minutes before the start of ceremony for refreshments. The procession will form 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony.

Wet weather
In the event of inclement weather, ceremonies will take place in Lazenby Hall. The decision to move into Lazenby Hall will be made on the morning of the ceremony. Robing will still take place in Booloominbah and members of the Chancellor’s Procession and the Academic and Professional Staff Procession will be transported to Lazenby Hall by bus.

Academic Dress
The dress standard for the procession is academic dress. Academic and professional staff are asked to supply their own academic dress. If you need to hire academic dress from UNE Life, this should be arranged at least two weeks in advance of the ceremony. The cost of your gown hire is covered for UNE staff participating in the Academic and Professional Staff Procession.

Staff are encouraged to register as soon as possible as procession numbers are capped due to stage size. Registration will be closed once the maximum number is reached even if it is before the deadline. Once you have successfully registered, the Graduation team will send you an Outlook Calendar event and provide further protocol, pointers and procedures of the day.
