Dear colleagues

We apologise for the delays you may have experienced with purchasing or renewing parking permits.

Acknowledging the impact this has had, the issuing of Penalty Notices for blue and purple (visitor) permit offences has currently been suspended until 1 March 2024. All other UNE Parking Policy and Parking Procedures apply, and fines will be issued.

For parking permits in 2024:

  • In consideration of the cost-of-living pressures, parking fees will not increase in 2024.
  • Red bays and Green bays will become 24hrs per day, 7 days per week for the relevant permit holders.
  • Blue and Purple bays will be available for free parking for students during the intensive school periods listed below:
    • 5 February – 16 February 2024
    • 8 April – 19 April 2024
    • 27 May – 2 June 2024
    • 5 August – 16 August 2024
    • 23 September – 29 September 2024
    • 9 December – 20 December 2024
  • Parking ticket machines will progressively be removed in the coming weeks, and all short-term purple (visitor) parking permits will only be available for purchase via the Parking App.

UNE acknowledges the confusion this delay has caused, and therefore has extended the fine free parking period for blue and purple bays until 1 March 2024. Please contact parking@une.edu.au for clarification.

The closing date for red bay applications has been extended to Friday, 16 February 2024. Successful applicants will be notified shortly after this date and will have until 1 March 2024 to purchase their red permit.

The link to purchase your blue parking permit or apply for a red bay is found on the UNE web page here UNE Parking Permit Sales .

Regards

Jo
