We are excited to announce a number of additional and more advanced online data training programs, all funded by the UNE Data & Information Insights Program, so there is no cost to attend.  Some are only 90 minutes and others can be half or full day courses with the longer ones generally being highly technical for those that would like to gain more advanced data analytics and engineering skills.  If in doubt, please review the course description in Web Kiosk before you sign up! 

And all courses will be recorded in case you can’t attend at the scheduled times.    

We strongly encourage all staff to attend the 101 UNE Data Fundamentals course to gain a strong foundational understanding of core Data concepts and the UNE data ecosystem.  It’s still not too late to register! 

UNE’s Data Literacy Program is now offering the following courses: 

  • 101 – UNE Data Fundamentals (90-minute webinar for all staff) – Understanding the basics about the UNE Data Ecosystem, Data Insights, Governance and introduction to Visualisation.   
  • 102 – Data Visualisation for Data Consumers: Turning Numbers into Insights  
  • 103 – Data Visualisation in-depth for Report Creators – Craft compelling displays and master the design process 
  • 104 – Power BI Ingestion and Modelling for Report Creators – Designing reports in Power BI    
  • 201 – Dimensional Modelling – An in-depth guide to designing star schemas to support analytics 
  • 202 – Modern Data Platforms – Understand the different components of cloud-based data platforms and how they work together 
  • 203 – SQL Foundation – Hands on course covering basic SQL queries through to advanced topics
