Browsing capability of courses by Majors and Specialisations in the Prospective Student Catalogue – coming soon!

 

UNE’s Digital User Experience (DUX) project team is getting ready to release improvements that allow prospective students to browse for courses by Majors, Minors, Specialisations, Teaching Areas, and Specialist courses.

The changes will provide UNE with a range of benefits:

• Improved searchability and visibility through Google, and internally in the UNE website
• Increasing traffic to the Prospective Student Catalogue
• Potential growth improving conversion with prospective students searching to applying

Example of the new Majors and Specialisations widget to be added to Topic/Discipline pages in the Prospective Student Catalogue.

These improvements will be added to the Prospective Student Catalogue on Wednesday October 25th, 2023, when the catalogue starts promoting 2024 courses.

The following improvements will be made available to our prospective students.
• Expansion of the topic/discipline pages from 47 to 118 topics we know prospective students are searching for
• New browsing for courses by Majors and Specialisations capability with the Majors and Specialisations widget being added to topic/discipline pages
• Browsing for courses by Majors and Specialisations capability added to UNE’s global search

Improvements to the display of English Language Requirements, and International Year 12 equivalence being added to the Prospective Student Catalogue – coming soon!

The way we display our English Language Requirements for both Domestic and International prospective students is about to improve considerably providing them with a more user-friendly way of being able to identify what requirements they need to satisfy for entry to study at UNE.

International prospective students will have additional improvements to the way they identify if the study they have completed in their home country is equivalent to an Australian Year 12 level of study.

The changes will provide UNE with a range of benefits:

  • Personalised course information for domestic & international.
  • Improve UNE’s performance in Global Reviews DSE research against competitors
  • Improving the prospective student user experience

These improvements will be published to the Prospective Student Catalogue on Wednesday 25th of October 2023.

Example of the improvements being made to how International year 12 equivalence will be displayed to International prospective students on course pages in the Prospective Student Catalogue

The following improvements will be made available to prospective students:

  • A new English Language Requirements Prospective Student Catalogue page allowing search and improved user experience of identifying related English Language Requirements for courses
  • A new display for reading and identifying related English Language Requirements shown when viewing the international view for a course
  • Improved display for reading and identifying the level of study equivalent to an Australian Year 12 level of study, by country
